North Carolina, Part 2 = The Biltmore Estate, Asheville

After visiting Cherokee in the Smoky Mountains, we drove into Asheville, NC, to visit the Biltmore Estate.  The Biltmore Estate is the largest privately owned house in the United States, at 178,926 sq. ft. of floor space.  It was built by George Washington Vanderbilt between 1889 and 1895.  It is EXTREMELY expensive to visit the estate (over $60 for a non-senior adult), so make sure you're up for this before showing up.  No photos are allowed inside the mansion itself, though I took a few inside the not-so-monitored areas in the lower levels.  I'm not going to caption any of the photos, but note that the gardens of the estate are very worthwhile, and are featured toward the end of this photo dump.
