Been awhile since I've updated the ol' blog. Here goes, starting with a long day in San Francisco nearly three months ago, for a Giants game and a concert, and a few things in between.
Ferry Building with Justin Herman Plaza (Vaillancourt Fountain) in the foreground.
Ferry Building on a glorious day.
Il Cane Rosso, inside the Ferry Building, was our breakfast spot.
Nathan, my partner in crime.
Yours truly, fat and happy.
Speaking of fat...
Hard Water was a pier or two away, so we went for whiskey.
Nathan needed (needed!) to try Pappy Van Winkle, so he did the tasting flight.
I limited myself to the poor man's tasting flight. You get what you pay for.
This was a nice freebie, especially considering it blew our minds.
Game time at AT&T Park.
The Giants had locked in the second wild card, so the starting lineup was without many of the best players.
Lou Seal getting cozy with the fans.
Jake Peavy pitched for the Giants.
Giants got on the board first.
We roamed around, so this was our vantage point for the bottom of the ninth.
The Giants had broken the tie in the 8th, and held on to win 3-1.
Celebration cervezas at 21st Amendment Brewery, a few blocks away.
We had to go see the Mikkeller Bar, so we walked the mile plus.
We're big fans of the Danish gypsy brewer's beers.
Back to the Ferry Building...
Hog Island Oyster Co., for oyster appetizers.
Dinner at the Slanted Door - pricey but delicious.
Concert time = The Dodos & Dylan Shearer @ The Chapel, in the Mission.
Dylan Shearer and company
Meric Long of The Dodos
Logan Kroeber of The Dodos
Coming up soon - more daytrips and such.
