It's been too long between posts, but truth be told, not a whole lot going on on my end. In honor of summer and our national past time, here's a post that's long overdue, from last summer when I went down to my best man's wedding in LA and caught an Angels vs. A's game the night before.
Angel Stadium is (secretly) the 4th oldest stadium in the MLB.
One of two gigantic hats out front - both are size 649 1/2 (not kidding).
BOOOOO HISSSSSSSSSS (sniff)
The Honda Center, home of the Anaheim Ducks, is in sight of the stadium.
C.J. Wilson vs. Josh Reddick
We had very nice, inexpensive seats.
By "we," I mean my brother-in-law and yours truly.
Dan Straily vs. Mike Trout
Albert Pujols gets a single.
...and a fist bump.
Josh Hamilton wiffs on the pitch.
But Alberto Callaspo gets a nice home run to put the Angels up 2-0.
Time for fun with in-camera special effects!
Pujols flies out.
C.J. Wilson pitched an impressive 8 1/3 scoreless innings.
He deserves the standing O.
Ernesto Frieri would finish the game.
2-0 in the ninth, with only 3 Oakland hits (1 of them in the ninth).
Runner in scoring position...
...and that's a wrap.
By going to this game, I finally saw all 5 baseball stadiums in California (tiny feather in my cap).
I still need to post photos from my visits to the Atlanta Falcons and the Toronto Raptors. Sometime this summer! :-)
