Chaoyang Theater Chinese Acrobatics Show, Beijing

After a busy day touring around Beijing on Day 3, my wife and I ventured out to an optional excursion offered by China Spree = a Chinese acrobatics show, followed by dinner.  This ended up being one of the highlights of the trip for me, in no small part due to the fact that the theater allowed unlimited non-flash photography.  Behold the glory of my new camera (and keep in mind these were taken from towards the back of the theater).  ;-)

This guy could balance himself on stacked chairs... many, many stacked chairs.

The Chinese have a penchant for finesse.

Umbrella twirling - pretty neat.

These guys were pretty remarkable for how well they could toss their hats in synchronization.  Photos don't do it justice.

The final act = motorcycles in a sphere.  At first, it was just one innocuous cyclist doing flips.  Then came a second one...

...and then a third...

...and a fourth...

Suz thought it was done when 5 were flipping around each other.  "Oh no," I whispered, "they'll fit at least two more!"  Behold the sixth and seventh riders.

Weeeee!

Take a bow, gentlemen, you've earned it.

Needless to say, I highly recommend the Chaoyang Theater!

Day 4 in Beijing, coming soon.
