Midwest Trip Photos = Cedar Point, Day 7

Welcome to Sandusky, Ohio

Home of Cedar Point, considered the greatest amusement park in the world

No baseball today! Just Cedar Point (and a bit of driving)

The white tower is the Power Tower (240 feet tall), and the yellow one behind it is actually the second tallest roller coaster in the world, Top Thrill Dragster (420 feet tall)

Don't be deceived - it was crazy crowded (for a Tuesday, no less!)

First ride of the day = Raptor, which is fairly similar to Great America's Top Gun

Millennium Force, 4th tallest coaster in the world (310 feet) and the longest steel coaster in the world (well over a mile of track)

Mean Streak, one of the park's 2 woodies, and the coaster with the longest duration (165 seconds)

Snoopy with Top Thrill Dragster (also the 2nd fastest coaster in the world, hitting 120 mph in just 3.8 seconds)

Riders on Magnum XL-200, the first coaster over 200 feet tall, and credited with starting the "coaster wars" with its construction in 1989

I used to daydream about this ride as a kid; coming here today was actually the fulfillment of a long time dream

Line for Millennium Force, over an hour long (standard for a summer weekday)

Spotted this license plate in the parking lot = a good summary of northern Ohio

Patrick had fun, too

On the road again, heading west into Indiana, where we'll spend the night.
Our trip was coming to a close, with just 1 full day and 1 baseball game left. To be continued...
