San Jose's Joey Chestnut - Pizza (and hot dog) eating champion

San Jose, CA, has come a long way in putting itself on the map. The "Capital of Silicon Valley" may still be best known as the city mentioned in a certain Burt Bacharach-penned, Dionne Warwick-sung song (do I really need to mention the title?), but it's also grown out of the shadow of its more famous (and smaller) neighbor to the north. Could be the computers - I like to think it's the Sharks.

But there's a new kid on the block making San Jo' all the more renowned: SJ-born Joey Chestnut, holder of no less than 18 world records for professional eating.

Please click on the hyperlink above to read his impressive biography. In the meantime, suffice it to say that J.C. (all of 24 years old) ate 45 slices of pizza in 10 minutes in New York City earlier today. Michael Phelps, eat your heart out.

Way to represent, Joey - I think you should next try to eat as many chocolate hockey pucks (from Sonoma Chicken Coop) as you can during one of the intermissions at a Sharks game.
