San Jose Sharks send down Logan Couture and Derek Joslin

The San Jose Sharks reduced their training camp rosters yet again, sending both Logan Couture (C) and Derek Joslin (D) to their former teams, OHL's Ottawa 67's (Couture) and the AHL's Worcester Sharks (Joslin). Joslin was a fifth round pick in the 2005 draft, while Couture was a 1st round (9th overall) selection in the 2007 draft.

This leaves (I think) 29 players fighting for 23 spots. For those of you playing the home game, Jeff Friesen is one of those players.

Here are the young guns who are still fighting for the spots.

1. Riley Armstrong

2. Lukas Kaspar

3. Mike Moore

4. Mike Morris

5. Tomas Plihal (who has already played with the Sharks)

6. Brad Staubitz

The Sharks play their final preseason game tomorrow in Salt Lake City, against the Los Angeles Kings. The regular season, while going on in Europe this weekend, begins for the Sharks at home this Thursday, October 9, vs. the Anaheim Ducks.
