I don't know about you - but I'm finding it hard to get too excited about the San FRANCISCO Giants, despite their 5 wins in 6 games (that's counting tonight's victory over Arizona) - too little too late in the NL Worst, I mean West. What's more, the Giants are actually helping their worst enemy by winning their last two games - the Dodgers are advancing past the Diamondbacks.

Well, that's the steroid-infused big league. For a purer form of the game, packed with excitement, I bring you the San JOSE Giants, the "High Class-A" baseball affiliate of the more famous team by the bay. They finished their regular season atop the Northern Division of the California League (there are two divisions that face off for the league championship, incidentally starting on Thursday).

Well, the Giants are in the playoffs against the Stockton Ports, who are affiliated with the Oakland A's (of all teams). The Giants rallied from a deficit in Game 1 to beat the Ports 5-3... but the Ports returned the favor the next two nights, winning each game by 1 run.

Tonight, I am ecstatic to report, the Giants tied the series by winning Game 4 in Stockton, 2-1!!! (triple exclamation marks!)

The series concludes tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7pm, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The winner advances to the California League Championship. In the Southern Division, the Lake Elsinore Storm failed to get things done against the Lancaster JetHawks tonight, and thus the series returns to Lancaster tomorrow night for Game 5.

The Giants could be headed to their second championship in 2 years (they won it all last year, and in 2005)... be sure to come out and watch tomorrow!
